On Sunday, 18/05/2025: The MAJaC – CSO Coalition commenced its community advocacy campaign at the Bakau Community Center. We screened thought provoking documentaries produced by MAJaC Digital Media and Film & Photography students aimed at highlighting opportunities for young people, and raising awareness to combat irregular migration.
Community leaders including the Village Development Committee (VDC) Chairman, the local Councillor, a legal travel expert, a Child Fund Gambia representative, a representative from the Gambia Youth Chamber of Commerce, and Professor Sidibeh, a renowned Psychologist offered important statements and support to the Coalition.
The session sparked meaningful dialogue with community members on the impacts of irregular migration, the need for skills training, opportunities available, and the visa application process.
