GYIN Gambia Supports Partner Association at Press Conference for International Boxe Chinoise Training Course and National Championship

Senegambia, The Gambia – September 20, 2024 – The Gambia Boxe Chinoise Federation held a press conference at the Senegambia Beach Hotel to provide details about the upcoming International Boxe Chinoise Training Course and National Championship, scheduled for September 27th and 28th, 2024. The event marks a significant milestone for the federation, which has been steadily growing since its initiation in 2019.

The Federation is looking forward to hosting participants from six African countries: Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea Conakry, and Ivory Coast, as well as a delegate from France. The training aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of coaches, referees, and athletes while also building a national team for Boxe Chinoise that will represent the country internationally.

During the press conference, the Federation underscored the broader mission of the event, which goes beyond competition. The focus is on Boxe Chinoise’s educational and empowerment aspects, particularly its role in teaching discipline and the value of control as a means of self-defense. “Boxe Chinoise teaches young people discipline, not to fight, but to defend themselves,” stated Ebrahima B. Tamba, President of The Gambia Boxe Chinoise Federation, emphasizing the educational aspect of the sport.

In addition, the Federation called on donors, supporters, and government agencies to assist in furthering the development of sports and youth empowerment initiatives in The Gambia. Their backing is crucial in ensuring the long-term success of sports programs and providing resources for the next generation of Gambian athletes.

As a key partner, GYIN Gambia Chapter provided technical support to The Gambia Boxe Chinoise Federation throughout the planning process and actively supported the organization during the press conference. This collaboration aims to promote youth involvement in sports and foster international cooperation.
