Bijilo, The Gambia – September 5, 2024 – On August 29th and 30th, The Gambian-German Advisory Centre for Jobs, Training and Reintegration (GGAC) has successfully convened a 2-day Joint Operational Planning Workshop.

Held at its head office in Westfield, the event brought together various cooperation partners, including state, civil society and private sector actors to share experiences and lessons learned from the previous year’s joint implementation. The workshop was also held for stakeholders to develop a shared set of objectives for the extended project duration.

While speaking at the official opening ceremony, Mr. Kawsu Sillah, National Coordinator and Head of Advisory Centre welcomed the participants and highlighted the workshop’s objectives. He spoke on the importance of collaboration and the need to align efforts with national priorities.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Ismaila Danso, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MoTIE) thanked the partners for their commitment and cooperation.

He outlined key achievements from the previous year, including capacity development measures for partner structures and support for the social and economic reintegration of the target group.

Mr. Danso stressed the importance of local ownership and alignment with government policies for the extended project duration.

As one of its service providers, GYIN Gambia Chapter played an active role in the workshop in terms of sharing insights and experiences from the extensive work in youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and rural development.

The workshop provided a platform for GYIN Gambia to align its initiatives with national priorities and strengthen collaboration with other stakeholders to ensure sustainable development and economic reintegration.

The workshop concluded with participants developing impactful activities and plans to achieve the objectives of the #ZME project in The Gambia.
