Members of the Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter are participating in a four-day training workshop on cross-border trade and women’s entrepreneurship in the agro-food sector, taking place at Metzy Hotel from May 18–22, 2026.
Organized by the Female Lawyers Association–The Gambia (FLAG) in partnership with WILDAF and supported by ECOWAS, the workshop equips women entrepreneurs and traders with vital knowledge of their rights, obligations, and trade regulations.
Participants are also trained in advocacy techniques and communication skills to strengthen their businesses and amplify their voices in policy discussions.
The initiative highlights ECOWAS’s steadfast commitment to building a prosperous and inclusive West Africa. By focusing on women entrepreneurs in the agro-food sector, the program contributes to food security, strengthens economic resilience, and promotes regional integration.
The selected participants, drawn from the Greater Banjul Area, are actively engaged in cross-border trade and commercial activities. The training underscores ECOWAS’s mission to foster sustainable development and ensure that women and youth remain at the forefront of regional growth.
