Bijilo, The Gambia – September 17, 2024 – The Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter and The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) have today, 17th September 2024 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the GCCI Head office in Bijilo. This partnership marks a significant step towards empowering businesses and fostering collaboration across various sectors in The Gambia.

The MoU aligns with GCCI’s Affiliate Program, which aims to connect, collaborate, and advance businesses together. Key objectives of the program include:

  •  Fostering collaboration among business associations, chambers, and organizations
  •  Providing capacity-building opportunities and resources
  •  Offering a platform for collective advocacy
  •  Promoting information sharing and best practices

Mamadou Edrisa Njie, Executive Director of GYIN Gambia Chapter, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. He stated that it was a great honor and pleasure to sign the MoU, and emphasized that by joining resources and expertise, their endeavor to create impactful and sustainable solutions would be realized. Njie also expressed gratitude to both the GCCI and the Women’s Chamber, which was also in attendance, for their previous collaborations.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration, Njie added, “When we shift from talking to action, and work together, challenges become once upon a time.”

This partnership between GYIN Gambia Chapter and GCCI represents a united effort to support business growth, innovation, and economic development in The Gambia.

He said, “this Memorandum of Understanding establishes a mutual understanding between GCCI and GYIN Gambia Chapter for the purpose of collaboration and affiliation within the Chamber Affiliate Program, specifically focusing on entrepreneurship development for MSMEs in The Gambia”.
