Organized by the Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter, the Rural Youth Awards 2023 showcased the immense potential of young Gambians in driving positive change within their communities. Held under the auspices of the project titled “Foster Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship Opportunities for Returnees and Host Communities in Rural Areas,” generously funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and diligently implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, this event marked a significant milestone in our journey of youth empowerment. We celebrated the creativity, resilience and bravery of the ten Rural Youth Award Winners.
On the 10th day of June 2023, at the esteemed Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) National Trade Fair Grounds in Brusubi, we witnessed the birth of ten new entrepreneurs, each possessing a unique vision and a steadfast commitment to making a difference. These ten award winners embarked on a journey that will not only transform their own lives but also inspire countless others with their innovative business ideas and creative minds.
