On Wednesday, 14th August 2024, PSN Enterprise, a Gambian company established in 2016 with the aim of providing best quality products and services to the Gambian farmers discussed a partnership agreement with GYIN Gambia, a network that specialises in rural development by linking smallholder farmers and markets.
Mamadou Edrisa Njie, Executive Director of GYIN Gambia, in welcoming PSN Enterprise Senior Management- Alex Jammeh Managing Director/ Agricultural Engineer and Omar Jammeh, Manager, expressed his sincere appreciations and gratitude to PSN Enterprise for choosing GYIN Gambia as a partner.
Mr Njie gave a brief background of the network, noting that GYIN Gambia was registered on 4th June 2012 and since it’s registration, it has not diverted from its mission, vision and goals.
GYIN Gambia, he explained, is dedicated to empowering returnee migrants, women, and youth with self-reliant skills, enabling them to establish and enhance their market linkages.
He went on to say that GYIN Gambia in its programmes and projects has provides support to these groups in the fields of innovation, agribusiness, market linkages, and entrepreneurship through capacity-building, networking, coaching, and mentoring.
The GYIN Gambia Executive also highlighted the numerous programmes rendered by his network ranging from trainings, business advisory and mentoring which he said, are specifically tailored to the needs of returnee migrants, women, persons with disability and youth, with a strong emphasis on the agricultural sector.
Mrs. Ida L.B Ceesay, Business Development Officer (BDO), GYIN Gambia explained that since the network’s inception, numerous workshops and training sessions have been conducted, covering topics such as digital literacy, entrepreneurship, packaging and labelling, and other relevant subjects essential for start-ups, entrepreneurs, and enterprises.
In addition to the trainings, she said, GYIN Gambia provides business advisory support to returnees, women, and youth to further enhance their prospects for success.
Madam Ceesay thanked both Alex and Omar for the visit saying that both parties need to enter into an agreement- Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to have an effective collaboration in empowering Gambian farmers.
In his statement, Alex Jammeh, Managing Director/Agricultural Engineer, PSN Enterprise commended GYIN Gambia for supporting and working with smallholder farmers.
Mr Alex said PSN Enterprise’s main activity is to import and distribute all types of agricultural inputs across the whole country and offer the best service to their customers.
“We do have a huge range of products like phytosanitaryes, seeds, fertilizer, agricultural tools, equipment and many more.”
At PSN Enterprise, he continued, they have a great team with vast experience and are connected to important pool of European knowledge and expertise.
He further stated that they are always working on optimizing their products and services to satisfy both the present and future demands of the farmers.
“Our business with our customers starts on the counter and ends at the harvest of the farm products.”
Mr Alex concluded by saying that “we believe that merging your exceptional project management skills with the quality products. We will go a long way in making a positive impact on the development of agriculture in The Gambia.”
