The Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter today, 5th August, 2019, held an orientation for its third intern from the Global Education Network of Young Europeans (GLEN), Beata Rajeckaite, who arrived in the shores of the Gambia last Wednesday.
Held at the GYIN Gambia Secretariat in Churchill’s Town, the orientation was meant to welcome the intern as well as introduce her to the office mode of operations.
This initiative began last year as part of GYIN Gambia’s efforts in global partnership in the fields of youth development. GLEN interns mainly students and young experts in various fields offer technical backstop to GYIN Gambia for a period of three months between July – September, 2019.
Speaking at the orientation, the GYIN Gambia Financial Controller, Mariam Saine welcomed her to the Gambia also known as the Smiling Coast of Africa and exposed her to the country’s social and cultural attractions.
She gave a run-down of the Secretariat’s daily official duties which include Assignments, mode of Communications and working overtime.
She assured her the secretariat’s openness and readiness to work with them (interns) in achieving a fruitful working relationship throughout the course of their three months’ internship.
The posting of three interns will increase the strength of GYIN Gambia in its efforts to add value to the lives of young people especially in rural Gambia.
Beata Rajeckaite from Lithuania, for her part, expressed appreciation to join her colleagues to serve GYIN Gambia as an intern.
She promised to deliver her best to GYIN Gambia during the course of her internship.
About The Intern
Deborah Rammrath is German who is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in International Business Administration at the University of Vienna in Austria.
Her specialised areas include International Management, Marketing, and Cultural Studies of Africa.
In terms of experience, Deborah served as Account Manager of the Touch Media International in Egypt in 2018. In 2016, she was intern in the Communication and Visibility Unit of the European Union Office in Egypt.
Deborah had earlier experience as student trainee in the International Research and Recruiting Deperter in her country, German in 2014.
Rebeka Anna Sze’l is a personate youth worker with over five years of experience. She Hungarian and currently the Regional Leader of Mathias Corvinus Collegium-Foundation Tihanyi with a program to support the outstanding children in the Carpathian Basin in her country.
