GYIN Gambia Chapter is proud to announce that our regional coordinators and project officer have successfully completed the 3-day Step-Down Training on the Basics of Case Management in Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support (MHPSS). This training provided both knowledge and certification in two essential modules:

  • Module 1: Mental Health
  • Module 2: Case Management

The training, led by master trainers, covered key thematic areas including:

  • Human Rights-Based Approaches
  • Person-Centered vs Service-Centered Care
  • Personal Boundaries
  • Case Management Processes
  • Needs Assessment and Service Mapping
  • Understanding Mental Health Conditions
  • Child Development

By completing this training, GYIN Gambia Chapter staff have strengthened their capacity to:

  • Provide empathetic and professional support to communities
  • Apply structured case management approaches
  • Integrate mental health awareness into youth empowerment initiatives
  • Contribute to inclusive development and resilience-building efforts
  • Utilize practical exercises to better apply learned concepts in future client interactions (put ourselves in the shoes of clients / participants, enhancing empathy and understanding).
  • Foster peace of mind that positively shapes relationships at work, home, and within communities through psychosocial first aid
