The Global Youth Innovation Network Gambia Chapter (GYIN Gambia Chapter) and the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) in Canada on 18th January 2024 had entered into a four-month agreement to rollout a project on Chilli Pepper Value Chain focusing on production.

The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) in Canada works with GYIN Gambia Chapter to implement the project, targeting returnee migrants, women and youth farmers across The Gambia.

GYIN Gambia Chapter and COL is dedicated to empowering returnee migrants, women, youth farmers and marginalized communities.

The implementation of the project includes training of thirty (30) farmers on Chilli Pepper Value Chain (Production), Stakeholders Analysis Workshop targeting actors and drivers in the Chilli Pepper Value Chain, formation of Learning, Innovation, and Development Platforms (LINDEP), Strengthening the LINDEP Platform to Disseminate Chilli Pepper Production Training Materials to two thousand ( 2,000) returnee migrants, women, and youth farmers, Profiling of all Project Beneficiaries, Monitoring and Evaluation of the project.

As part of the project implementation, GYIN Gambia Chapter and COL will look into modalities in enhancing the sustainability and competitiveness of the Chilli Pepper Value Chain

Also, looking into the perspective on financing opportunities, market dynamics, and risk management within the value chain will thus shaping actionable strategies for the industry’s advancement.
