Brusubi, The Gambia – 9 April 2026: The Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia Chapter convened its quarterly Board of Directors meeting today at its Headquarters in Brusubi Phase 1.
The meeting provided an opportunity to update the Board on projects and programs implemented during the first quarter of 2026, as well as to discuss ongoing initiatives.
In his opening remarks, Executive Director Mamadou Edrisa Njie welcomed and expressed gratitude to the Board members for their continued support and commitment. “Your guidance and partnership remain central to the success of our work. Together, we are building a stronger network that empowers young people across The Gambia,” Mr. Njie stated.
He presented highlights of the network’s completed projects, including the PME and FATE initiatives, alongside current activities. Reflecting on the progress, Mr. Njie added: “Our achievements in the first quarter demonstrate the resilience and dedication of our staff. We are committed to sustaining this momentum and expanding our reach.”
Board Chairperson Mrs. Binta Gibba commended the staff for their passion, dedication, and commitment to advancing the network’s operations in The Gambia. She encouraged the team to maintain their spirit of teamwork, strengthen networking efforts, and expand partnerships with stakeholders. In her closing remarks, Mrs. Gibba emphasized: “The future of GYIN Gambia lies in collaboration and innovation. By working together and reaching out to more partners, we can ensure that the network continues to grow and make a lasting impact on youth development.”
The meeting was attended by Mrs. Binta Gibba (Board Chairperson), Ms. Mariama Krubally, and Mrs. Fanta Tambajang (Board Members).
Next Steps:
The Board agreed to continue supporting the implementation of ongoing projects, while prioritizing efforts to expand partnerships with national and regional stakeholders. Plans are also underway to strengthen the Technical Working Groups and enhance youth participation in decision-making processes.
