In its efforts to champion the course of Entrepreneurs, the Global Youth Innovation Network (GYIN) Gambia will today, 21st August, 2020 hold a Webinar to celebrate the World Entrepreneurs Day.
This year’s celebration, which will take form of a virtual event via zoom from 12pm to 1:30, will bring together various Experts Speakers and three Youth Speakers to share their Success Stories.
The theme for the event is dubbed: COVID-19 A Double Edged Sword – Running A Business and Personal Safety Amid the Pandemic.
According to the lead coordinator of the event, Ahmad M. Ceesay, The World Entrepreneurs’ Day is a day set aside to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership throughout the Gambia.
“World Entrepreneurs’ Day is the perfect day to celebrate the people who started a business alone such as founders, managers, producers, contractors, industrialists, innovators, administrators, designers and producers,” he said.
The topics of discussion on the event include ‘How Can Businesses Adhere To COVID-19 Safety Precautionary Measures?’ to be done by Dr. Serign Touray from USA, ‘How Can Businesses Leverage Technology To Survive COVID-19?’, by Mr. Saikou Camara from The Gambia as well as ‘Role of Government and Private Sector in Supporting Businesses in a Pandemic’ which will be done by Dr. Amina Sillah, CEO, GYIN International.
On this day, he continued, the entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to network, share experiences and possible ways to develop their businesses.
The event will be used as a platform to further call the government and stakeholders to renew their support and empowerment for the young entrepreneurs.
Certificate of participation will be awarded to those who registered and connected to the programme. The celebration will be live on GYIN Gambia Facebook page- GYIN Gambia Chapter.
